He completed his specialist training at the Women's and Children's Hospital in Adelaide and obtained his Australian specialist qualifications in January, 2004. Dr Gaunekar has undertaken advanced training in Minimal Invasive Gynaecology( key hole surgery), Fertility Medicine and Women's Ultrasonography, which are his areas of special interest. He has a particular interest in male infertility and PCOS.
He also holds an additional qualification in Women's Ultrasound (DDU ) from the Australasian society of Ultrasound Medicine. Dr. Gaunekar worked at the Lyell McEwin Hospital in Adelaide as a Specialist Obstetrician and Gynaecologist, before making the move to Mackay.
He has received several international awards including:
• The Gold medal for MD (Obstetrics and Gynaecology)
• The Beresford Buttery Travelling Fellowship for Ultrasound in 2005-2006 at Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia.
• Dr Gaunekar has represented Australia as the Young Gynaecologist Award winner for 2007 at the Asian and Oceania Congress of Obstetrics and Gynaecology (AOFOG) in Tokyo.
Dr Gaunekar believes that healthcare in the 21st century is a partnership between the Doctor and his patient/s aimed at achieving the best possible outcomes with evidence based medicine. He advocates that women and couples be active participants in their healthcare decisions. The role of the health professional is to empower them with the up to date medical knowledge so they can make informed choices. Dr. Gaunekar is well known for developing a relationship of mutual trust and respect with the women and couples that he treats. The word of mouth referral from his patients attests to his professionalism.

Dr. Rodrigues has over 20 years experience. She became a Fellow of the Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists(RANZCOG) in January 2005. She trained at the Women's and Children's Hospital in Adelaide and subsequently worked at the Flinders Medical Centre as a visiting Obstetrician and Gynaecologist.
After completing her training, she also worked as a fellow in advanced laparoscopic surgery at the Royal Women's Hospital in Melbourne.
Dr Rodrigues has additional qualifications in Ultrasonography (DDU) from the Australasian Society of Ultrasound medicine (ASUM).
Her aim is to provide the highest quality of care to women during all stages of their lives. Dr Rodrigues has special interests in pelvic floor dysfunction and incontinence and has undertaken advanced training in these areas. She performs urodynamic studies on women with bladder problems so they can avail the best course of treatment for their incontinence issues. She is passionate about improving the quality of life of the women suffering from the silent epidemic of urinary incontinence. Her friendly nature often puts her patients at ease who at times find seeing a gynaecologist quite intimidating.
Dr. Rodrigues manages both low risk and high risk pregnant women. She delivers babies at the Mater Private Hospital and feels privileged to be a part of the miracle of birth. This husband and wife team provides excellent care and support to their patients, and see them as part of their extended family at NG GyneHealth. They moved to Mackay from Adelaide to set up a family friendly Obstetrics and Gynaecology practice. Their combined experience allows them to offer women an exceptional quality of care and continuity. Sally also enjoys spending quality time with her two young children and her friends.

Dr Anand is a fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetrics & Gynaecology. She completed her seven years of training in the speciality in Manchester, UK and gained Membership of the Royal College of Obstetrics & Gynaecology.
Having trained at the second busiest tertiary hospital in UK, she gained immense experience in managing high risk pregnancies and labour. She had advanced training in Labour ward management, Reproductive medicine and Maternal medicine.
Dr Anand has eight years of experience working as a Consultant in UK and then moving to Australia. She was part of the team in Endometriosis referral centre and gained experience in managing endometriosis. She has special interest in minimal access surgery, recurrent miscarriage and high risk Obstetrics
